2. Hosting and server logs

This website is served by a webserver operated by us or on our behalf. Technically necessary connection information, such as your IP address, request time, requested page, browser and operating system, may be processed in server logs to operate the website reliably and securely and diagnose faults. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in secure operation.

3. Contact and order forms

We process the contact and business details you provide, billing and delivery addresses where relevant, product requirements, event dates and messages to answer enquiries, prepare quotations and enter into or perform contracts. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR or, for other enquiries, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in responding appropriately.

Your submission is stored on our server and sent by email to the responsible team. It does not subscribe you to marketing or newsletters.

4. Necessary session and abuse prevention

A necessary session cookie protects forms against unauthorised submission, prevents duplicate requests and displays your receipt within your session. It is a session cookie normally removed when the browser closes; browser session restoration may preserve it. Server sessions expire according to the configured inactivity period.

For rate limiting, we store a pseudonymised value derived from your IP address using a secret key, together with a request counter. Entries apply for up to one hour and are removed during later requests or scheduled server cleanup. This processing relies on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Storage of and access to strictly necessary session information relies on § 25(2)(2) TDDDG.

5. Recipients and payment

Authorised Usables staff and, where necessary, hosting and email service providers receive the data. Necessary order details may be shared with delivery providers and accounting service providers. We conclude processing agreements with providers acting on our instructions where required. Any international processing by our hosting or email providers must be covered by appropriate legal safeguards.

Payments are made by bank transfer against an invoice. This website does not collect card details or online payment account information.

6. Retention

We retain enquiries for as long as necessary to process them and handle follow-up questions. Contract and invoice records are retained according to applicable statutory obligations. Records are then deleted unless another legal basis requires continued retention, for example to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

7. Local media and fonts

Images, videos, fonts and styling load from this webserver. This application contains no analytics, advertising, newsletter or payment-provider scripts. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising. External links are subject to the destination site's privacy policy.

8. Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw any consent with future effect. You may complain to a competent supervisory authority, including the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information North Rhine-Westphalia. Where local privacy law provides additional rights, you may contact us to exercise them. We do not discriminate against people for exercising privacy rights.

9. Automated decisions and changes

We do not make automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects through this website. We may update this policy to reflect changes in the website or our processing activities.
